Confirmed BoursoBank confirmed that you can keep the account and Ultim card as a Thailand resident. Next: obtain/activate the physical Ultim card and use it as the Thailand-only account.

Fee audit — your intended setup

• Account + EUR funding: account maintenance is €0. Incoming EUR SEPA transfers and BoursoBank SEPA/instant transfers are €0; check the Revolut confirmation screen for its side of the monthly transfer.
• THB card purchases: €0 BoursoBank foreign-transaction fee. The conversion uses the Visa scheme rate; always choose THB/local currency at checkout and decline any merchant or ATM currency conversion.
• Cash: first 3 foreign-currency ATM withdrawals each month have €0 BoursoBank fee; each later withdrawal is 1.69% of its amount. Set a workable withdrawal ceiling in the app; published maximum is up to €2,000 per rolling 7 days, subject to approval.
• Card inactivity: physical Ultim is €9 for any month without a posted card payment. Do not rely on a bank transfer or direct debit to count; use one small genuine card purchase monthly if needed.
• Apps and wallets: ordinary card purchases have no BoursoBank foreign fee. But top-ups, money transfers, crypto, gambling and similar “quasi-cash” transactions can be treated as cash-like and consume the withdrawal limit; the app/provider may add its own fee.
• Avoid for your Thailand system: sending money onward from BoursoBank to a Thai bank account. A non-SEPA EUR transfer costs €20; foreign-currency transfers have BoursoBank’s quoted FX rate and recipient-bank charges can still apply.
• Contingencies: early card replacement/type change is €10; normal expiry renewal is free; one replacement after loss/theft is free per year, then €10.

Bottom line: keep money in EUR, pay or withdraw directly in THB with Ultim, take no more than three cash withdrawals per month, and avoid using the card to fund wallets unless the provider’s cost and treatment are acceptable.

Keep a dedicated THB balance and assign a physical “Thailand” Revolut card to it. This is a clean Thailand-only spending pot, but not a Thai bank account.

One rule for every plan: cash is €0 within its allowance, then 2% (minimum €1). FX is separate: pre-convert EUR to THB and the app shows any FX fee then; withdrawing existing THB adds no further FX fee.

Converting EUR to THB still has a Wise fee, shown in-app; spending the THB afterwards does not add a second conversion fee. France pricing: ATM withdrawals free to €250/month, then 2.69% of the excess. A Thai registered address can restrict Thai ATM use. Confidence: medium.

Standard: 1.7% N26 fee on Thai-baht withdrawals. Go: €9.90/month and €0 N26 fee on foreign-currency withdrawals, with no Thailand-specific withdrawal allowance. Card payments abroad have €0 N26 markup on both tiers; Mastercard’s rate applies.

Cash break-even Go costs less than Standard once Thai-baht cash withdrawals exceed about €582/month (1.7% × cash withdrawn = €9.90).

Task before relying on it Ask N26 in-app whether it will maintain your existing account after you update to Thai residence and tax details. This account holds EUR, not a dedicated THB balance. Confidence: high on fees; account-residency status to confirm.

Cost: €0 issuer fee when using BoursoBank Ultim or N26 Go; no added platform fee. Use the dedicated card where cards are accepted, and cash for the rest. Confidence: high.

Cost: converting EUR to THB has the Wise fee quoted in-app (currently advertised from 0.47%, depending on amount and method). Once you hold THB, an eligible Alipay+ QR payment adds €0. Use Wise QR only where the merchant displays Alipay+; it is not universal PromptPay. Confidence: medium.

Cost: published card top-up is THB 30 per THB 1,000 (3%)—for example THB 300 on THB 10,000. Requires Thai SIM, passport and likely enhanced verification. Foreign-card support and DTV treatment are not dependable enough for a core plan. Confidence: low until tested.

Cost: budget THB 0 for the wallet transfer only; add the actual Wise/Revolut reimbursement cost shown in-app. Verification and transfer eligibility are not confirmed. Keep it occasional, documented and small. Confidence: medium-low.

Cost: standard joining fee THB 150, plus an unquoted FX booth spread. Funding needs foreign-currency cash at a KBank FX booth. Confidence: medium.

Cost: 4.5% foreign-card top-up—a THB 10,000 top-up costs about THB 450, before any card-side FX cost. Potentially reaches personal and merchant PromptPay QR, but it is too expensive for normal spending. Confidence: medium.
